REFUND POLICY

While we try to be understanding and as flexible as we can, producing an adventure race requires a lot of time and effort on the part of the members of Venturing Crew 1 and the many volunteers who assist in course design, field checking and setting up the race itself...not to mention the out of pocket expenses for everything from gasoline to the various supplies we use, all of which must be paid for far in advance of the race. You depend upon us to have a race waiting when you arrive, and we depend upon you to show up when you say you will.

...having said that, we understand that sometimes things happen which can force anyone to have to change their plans, and so we have established the following refund policy:

  1. If you let us know on or before August 20, 2008 that you will be unable to attend,  we will refund 100% of your entry fee if paid by mail-in registration, or your online registration fee less the cost of any third party registrar (may be about 6-7%).
  2. If you cancel afer August 20, 2008, but on or before September 5, 2008 we will refund 50% of your entry fee if paid by mail-in registration, or your online registration fee less the cost of any third party registrar (may be about 6-7%).  There will be no cash refund for cancellations after September 5, 2008.
  3. If you simply don't show up, (or show up too late to start) on the day of the event itself...sorry - you get zip, zilch, nada, nothing.  Sorry, we have to draw the line somewhere.
Your entry is completely transferable, right up to the start of the race, to any other racer. Team configurations are flexible as well, so don't let the loss of a teammate stop you - you can often hook up with another team right at the race itself.

What happens if we cancel the race?  This hasn't happened yet, but due to the very nature of adventure racing, there is always a chance that something could destroy with our carefully laid plans and prevent us from racing.  There are way too many things that are out of our control to make any guarantees.  Weather is not one of them.  This event will go on rain, snow or shine!
We will do everything in our power to provide you with a good race.  Our policy as of now is that if it ends up cancelled, there will be no refunds given.
